Has there been something that you had to do, that you know you wanted to do or at least have to do? Don’t you think its time you pushed for it to be done? Is there something that needs to be sorted? A passion that you should be chasing? A skill you were going to learn? An ability you could explore further? Spaces that needs to be cleared and sorted, those in your room, mind or the heart? Is there a destination that you need to start walking to?  Should there be that someone that you need to talk to? Yes. That space. That situation. That person. That memory.

Something has to happen. You will have to make it happen. Push for it. Make the first move. Go.

You have to. It’ll get better.

Its late i know but it just HAD to be posted. A post as a tribute to a great friend who i spent a good day with in food and humor. So as 2 friends would have it, we caught up for lunch in KLCC (needed to look at some watches). Anyway, had one of those er… not so happy with lunches session… haha… but we had fun prodding, poking and swishing the food around ( A we should have gone to 1U =D). Left with an entire day after the looking session, we did something unexpected… at least for me… for the record, so far no one really entertains me when i make random and to others utterly meaningless suggestions. Some pat me on the back and just agree with what i say but think its a joke, others give me this look =.=”, some will start talking to me gently as though i’m in shock and others… well they’ll just know i’m being me… X) But today it was DIFFERENT…. We actually agreed to go visit our Malaysian Children’s pride and joy – The PETROSAINS.. ~~Whoo hoo~~~ i really don’t know who else would have agreed to that… Won’t you say that’s a kick-ass friend… wahahaha… Thanks A.

By the way, we kind of made the lady at the ticket counter smile… haha… we must have looked pretty naive… So we armed ourselves with child-like innocence, erm… IQ of a 6 year old kid and was rewarded with many delightful colorful buttons and rides that emitted sounds, smoke, lights and my favorite an earthquake!! muahahaha… As it was a weekday, we had the place mostly to ourselves and this other couple (they were just friends i think =P), the four of us probably had a combined age of (110 years old)… We all had a great day!! you should visit the place… its cheap for RM12 an adult and Rm4 for a kid(Student rates and others). There’s just so many buttons to push =D

After so long, i’m still putting in some thoughts… thats good right?

I am bored with just seeing these 3 post every time i click on this page. Aren’t you? Haha… So then, since we dislike the Dim Sum we tried previously, we are in HK baby!!! We must have more dim sum… So we did again once twice three four times after that (different places with recommendations)… they were all good… i must day on the last time, it didn’t look so appetizing after all. Varieties are many yet the staple is Cheong Fun and some custard filling pau.

Some Cheong Fun is stuffed with Yow Char Kuai.

Other times you get a dish of beef and jellyfish.

In HK, most people don’t eat their breakfast at home.. Remember the HK drama series where the secretary or the minions would be buying back packs of Lai Cha ( milk tea) and sandwiches or noodles from char chan tengs or a doorway, its real. Most Hongkies would be way too rushed to prepare their own breakfast at home, so they would just buy from these places on the way to work or school.

Well, being only in HK for 1 day, it was a Sunday and we had to find ourselves some breakfast. We walked quite aimlessly, many shops were closed and most char chan teng are located on the 1st or 2nd floor(high rents) so it really wasn’t easy to find a place to eat. Yet, we manage to come to this ancient looking upstairs that was serving dim sum… the building was ancient, the workers were ancient, and it was a place the looked like no matter how much cleaning you do, it would still be grimy.. haha… Not much of a choice, we were hungry..

So then, having been served a pot of Chinese tea, like good Malaysians, we sat and waited for our nice liitle old lady to roll by with her cart of goodies… unfortunately that never came, they were slow as snails as like 15 minutes passes and they only come by with 1 dish of dim sum…

Malaysians will not recognize what this is either.

When my mum asked for some Har Gau (Shrimp Dumpling 蝦餃 ), the old lady told her to be patient, eat, drink and sit around first.. we were told later that it was a sunday tradition for people to come out and eat their dim sum for a time period of 3 hours o.O Needless to say being Malaysians, we ate 3 dishes, paid and was out of there in half an hour.

If you really like Lo Mai Kai (glutinous rice with chicken), you need to know that there is no such thing in HK. Feel free to ask though, you’ll probably end up with a replacement that looks like this,

In all the dim sum was actually quite horrible, tasteless and just too soft, with no texture whatsoever. Anyway, after that we wandered around again, mostly to appease my hunger and then we came to this little corner shop that had black and white newspaper cutting about the shop, at least i think it was… it was in Chinese.. so we walked in and stared at the Chinese menu for a while… the owner(an old man) kindly brought us an English menu after a while =p and so we had tea and toast.

Mmm.. Silky Milk Tea and French Toast…It was all Buttery, crispy and peanut buttery goodness… The tea was smooth, but nothing you can’t get at Kim Gary’s.. Maybe it is because they use this brand of Milk that it taste better… you’ll never know.. After its a FUSION Cow… Who knows?

Well, my other breakfasts HK did include more dim sum, so more pictures next time…

When a friend asked how was my holidays, it got me thinking and so i told her, i spent it traveling, lots of walking, talking, viewing seasons of dvds, reading, contemplating, chatting, packing, watching, worrying, discussing, capturing and some time in silence.. It was all great, though still with unresolved issues bugging me…

When somethings are over we can talk about it, so here’s a little on the trip to Hong Kong that started the holidays.

Friends : Hong Kong?? You went to HK?? *Reactions of awe* O.O

So so.. Did you go to Disneyland??!! *Wide Eyes* 0.0

Me: Err… no…

Friends : What?? Why?? Did you go to the Wax Museum?? Touch any of the figurines *Eager anticipation* o.O

Me: Err… no..

Friends: Yer.. Did you go to the Ocean Park??? *Still hopeful* o.o’

Me : Erm… No…

Friends : The Peak *Smaller eyes* -.o”

Me : Oooh yes…

Friends: You are dull =.=”

Haha… yes, i didn’t play in any of the amusement parks, nor visit much of the famous streets of peddlers in HK like Lui Yan Kai, Miu Kai and such.. but in my defense i did walk pass these streets briefly… Haha.. so what did i do in 2 weeks? I like to say it’s pure pleasure, food and exploration.

Lunch wasn’t all that exciting, but made a discovery that alcohol is SO CHEAP… haha… yes i like to look at prices… haha.. The place i stayed at was near Lui Yan Kai but it looks a lot like Petaling Street back home.

My first dinner in HK – Korean

The side dishes came first, some sweet tapioca-ey dish, potatoes, vegetables, some type of korean pancake, herbal chicken with rice that had only mild herbal taste and really pleasant, spicy tofu dish and the awesome plate of beef slices, which we grilled over the stove *smacks lips*.
